Tendido 6 History begins in 1960. In that time, its founder Don Juan Flor and his wife Adela de la Calle started their business in a small wine shop, serving season must, olives and chicken with garlic.

Bit by bit he found himself surrounded by an exclusive group of selected well-known costumers, such as wine-producers, doctors, lawyers, businessmen, etc...

In 1962 he started to expand the business, transforming it into a "Bar"; this happened on September 21st 1962. Thus, it remained in this way until August 28th 1972, when the business was expanded again. It was a Bar with an open-air terrace that after some time turned into a Restaurant because it was granted with a licence which allowed it to be covered. Nowadays it is known as the "Comedor de los Toreros" (Matadors' room), with a capacity for 60 customers.

Juan Flor rarely went abroad, only a few times because he was completely dedicated to serve his costumers, but these few leavings had a great success. He was required to organise a lunch at "Hotel los Lebreros" and a dinner at "Hotel Macarena", both in Seville, owing to the Award Ceremony in honour of the triumphant in the "Feria de San Isidro" and "Feria de Sevilla".

Many awards have been granted to him, among them the First Prize in the "Jornadas de Cocina Regional Andaluza" (Andalusian Regional Cooking Congress) held at Córdoba, and the Golden Insignia given by the "Federación Provincial de Empresarios de Hostería" (Provincial Federation of Hostelry Businessmen) on March 21st 1996.

Tendido 6 has been recommended as one of the best Restaurants by the main National and International Restaurants guides, due to its great level of quality, and it has been included in international gastronomic guides since its beginnings.

Juan Flor's son, Juan Miguel de la Flor, leaving aside his career as Physical Educator, is nowadays carrying out his father's task following the same line, although adapting it to these times.

Numerous Artists, Matadors and Famous People have visited and tasted the delicious dishes served in this Restaurant, sharing the dinner with the triumphant (Stockbreeder, Rejoneador and Matador) of the "Feria de Mayo" for 15 years.

We have been elaborating new dishes and "tapas" (appetisers) without losing our tradition. Our goal has always been to please and surprise our customers.
